Medical Coder / Medical Coding Specialist

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field (e.g., B.Sc, B.Pharm, M.Sc) preferred
- Certifications such as CPC, CCS, CIC, COC or other medical coding certifications are advantageous
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS recommended
Experience Requirements
- 1 to 6+ years of experience in medical coding roles across specialties
- Experience with ED Facility coding, Surgery coding, Denials, Pathology, E/M coding is a strong plus
Key Responsibilities
- Review clinical documentation and assign appropriate codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with healthcare and payer regulations
- Work on multiple coding specialties including Emergency Department (ED), Anesthesia, Surgery and E/M
- Collaborate with quality teams to maintain compliance and performance standards
- Support denial management by validating and correcting codes as needed

Skills & Certification (Preferred)
- Medical Coding certification such as AAPC/AHIMA approved programs (CPC, COC, CCS, CIC)
