As the Team Leader – Process R&D, you will lead process design, development, optimization and scale-up projects, ensuring scientific rigor, safety, and delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
As a Process R&D Team Leader, your responsibilities include:
- Leading design, development, and scale-up of safe, robust, and cost-efficient chemical processes that meet client quality requirements.
- Planning and allocating experimental work, tracking progress versus targets.
- Interpreting analytical datasets (HPLC, UPLC, GC, LC–MS, NMR) to ensure data integrity and scientific traceability.
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams including supply chain and SHE departments to align material readiness and safety compliance.
- Leading a team of scientists in key chemical operations, troubleshooting complex routes, and improving process efficiency.
This role demands technical leadership, scientific excellence, and the ability to drive multiple R&D initiatives from concept to execution.
Required Qualifications & Experience
To succeed in this role you should have:
- PhD in Organic Chemistry (required)
- 10+ years of experience in process R&D, route optimization, scale-up, and CDMO workflows.
- Deep expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, analytical interpretation, and chemical literature tools.
- Proven leadership and team-management skills in a pharmaceutical or chemical development environment.
